Booking Questions
Individual bookings are three months out during the high season (November – May) and five months prior to the reservation date during low season (June – October). Please note that certain weeks may be blocked off due to tentative group retreats or private events.
Our policy is two-night minimum and ten-night maximum stay for individual bookings. During peek high season (Feb – April) we have a three-night minimum and ten-night maximum stay.
Maderas Village has an 18+ policy. For family vacations, we recommend Villas Playa Maderas – a great nearby option.
Transportation From Airport
We require 24 hours notice prior to arrival for transportation requests within Nicaragua. Please note, you will 100% need a 4x4 vehicle to reach Maderas Village.
You will fly into Managua, Nicaragua. Once we receive your flight information, we are happy to arrange transportation from the airport to Maderas Village, which is roughly 2.5 hours South. Prices will vary based on the number of guests per vehicle. For instance, one person is $100 and two passengers is $50/person. Vehicles with 3+ guests are $40/person.
At the airport, there will have a driver waiting for you upon arrival with a sign that reads "Maderas Village" once you pass through customs. You will pay the driver in cash directly when arriving to Maderas Village.
Food & Restaurant
Maderas Village has a restaurant in the Main House that provides meals throughout the day. Meals are not included in the room price. Breakfast and lunch are served a la carte and dinner is served family-style.
Yoga & Surf
We offer daily yoga for $10/class that can be added on to your overall tab. We do not offer surfboard rental or lessons on site. However, there are a handful of great local surf instructors at Playa Maderas. Prices are typically $15 per lesson and $10 for daily board rentals. We are happy to point you in the right direction once you are on the ground.

Activities
Activities offered include Catamaran rides, Cherranga's lobster lunch, Disc Golf, Horseback Riding, massages, and Surf lessons at Playa Maderas. These are not included in the room price and are separate cash charges outside of Maderas Village. All activities can be arranged upon arrival.
Currency
Local currency is the Córdoba. Please check online for current exchange rate. Majority of Nicaragua also accepts USD. There are five ATMs in San Juan del Sur if you need to re-up. $20 bills are recommended for normal purchases and $50 bills for airport transportation.
Cancellation Policy
Deposits are the room price for the first two nights’ stay. The deposits are 50% refundable up until two months prior to the reservation, and 25% refundable up until one month prior to the reservation.
Payment For Checkout
We do not accept full payments prior to stay. All tabs are settled onsite at check out. Your deposit paid will go against your total bill. We accept cash or credit card (6% fees apply) at check out. We do not accept American Express. Please note that there is a 17% Nicaraguan tourism fee that will be tacked on to your total bill.
Immunizations
Please note if you are flying in to Nicaragua from the following countries, you will require a yellow fever shot for entry.
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, and nearly 30 countries located on the African continent.
Technology
We are happy to offer our fiber optics Wi-Fi to all guests and it is fully accessible throughout the Village. Our reservation booking software is powered by Pitaya. Most outlets throughout Nicaragua are Type A and Type B. If coming from North America, you will not require an adapter.
Spanish
Spanish is the native language of Nicaragua, however, English is widely spoken around the country. Our front of house staff are all fluent in English and Spanish. If you are interested in Spanish classes, speak with one of our staff who can introduce you to local teachers. Alternatively, check out the language learning software Fluent Reader AI to brush up on your Spanish listening comprehension.
